Zambia Wildlife Authority Transformations: Development of Protected Areas (Folder 5), 1998

This series contains materials concerning Brian Child's research in Zambia. After the implementation of CAMPFIRE in Zimbabwe, a similarly-modeled program was developed in neighboring Zambia. Based on previous research done in Zimbabwe, several community-based wildlife initiatives were established in Zambia. For six years, Brian Child was the technical advisor for a project to reorganize the management and finances of the South Luangwa National Park, known as the Luangwa Integrated Resource Development Project. This series contains specific information regarding the inception, implementation, and analyses of this and other similar programs. Also included is broader information about wildlife in the Zambian context as well as relevant government documents. This series is arranged alphabetically, and files on the same topic (e.g., Luangwa Integrated Research Development Project) are sub-arranged chronologically.
