Correspondence - David Moore. Miscellaneous notes and letters (1938 - 41) from David Moore, a dance student of Ruth St. Denis and/or an intimate (?) friend ("Ruth, darling…," Dearest Ruth…," etc.) including many letters describing his unhappy family life, with his parents, in San Francisco ("...I am a sorry creature in their eyes.."), his decision to pursue a life in the theatre ("...something I've been trying to accomplish for two years..."), references to meetings with Ruth St. Denis ("Overjoyed at your coming! Hoping all things regarding trip and stay will work out...for I have been very lonely. Your loving, David!" and "...Be gentle with me and accept my love, remember that it is myself I fear. Why should I be afraid of the comforting moments I have spent with you - other than they might end?") and references to unhappy incidents in the life of Ruth St. Denis ("...The real you will emerge from this terrible inheritance of pride and lies and fear and sensuality and false ambition...I'm suffering with you..." and "...Your letters look as though you are having a tremendous struggle with your own ego. May God take it easily from you..."). No further information has been found to explain or describe this relationship
