Senator Smathers TV Broadcast 11 - Senator Smathers interviews his sons, John and Bruce, about what they are doing during the summer. John says he is going to work for Pan American Airlines in South America so he can learn Spanish. He also talks about his participation in the Government Club at Princeton University, where he sides with the “conservative” side in debates. He supports the U-2 program and a tough stance against communism. Bruce is attending St. Albans School in Washington, DC. He plans to spend the summer resting, 1960

This series includes recorded statements, press releases, and statements made in television, radio and print media. Transcripts of radio addresses often appear with recorded media. A portion of the audio discs have been digitized and are available for listening in the University of Florida Digital Collections here. Thirteen televised addresses are also included in the series (boardcast number 6 was a Syd Herlong video and has been moved to that collection) and are available here. More recordings will be uploaded as the digitization process continues.
