 Series

Scope and Contents note

Chase Groves, Inc. began as the Chase Investment Company and changed its name on December 12, 1951. Initially, the company operated the Isleworth, Nocatee, Belair, and Kelly citrus groves as well as celery farms in Sanford. It also owned Hontoon Island at one time. The stockholders voted to dissolve the company on October 9, 1984. The Isleworth properties were sold to golfer Arnold Palmer and were developed as a premier golf course and luxury home community.

The series includes minutes, journals for 1912-1927, a ledger for 1912-1923, and a payroll book for Isleworth. A list of commissary items and their prices was found in the journal for 1912-1923. The payroll book includes individual salaries and wages for all classes of employees including packing house and field laborers.
