Kate L. Walton (1917-1985) was an attorney from Palatka, Florida who served as legal counsel in the Cason versus Baskin case, known as the Cross Creek Trial. The bulk of this collection consists of correspondence of the law firm relating to the trial and its proceedings, but also includes personal papers of Walton and various family members.

Andrew Nelson Lytle (1905-1995) was a novelist, professor, and editor of The Sewanee Review. This collection houses letters from Andrew Lytle to Alan Frederiksen, between the years of 1964 and 2004. The letters are personal in nature and mostly regard the publications of Frederiksen's works during Lytle's tenure as editor of The Sewanee Review and the friendship between the two writers.
