University of Florida Self-study and Accreditation Records

Series 166 in the University of Florida Archives Public Records Collection is an artificial series consisting of self studies, role and scope studies, outside consultant reports, and accreditation records. The series does not include the role and scope studies submitted to the Southern Association of College and Schools. These are cataloged items that appear in the University Collection. It does, however, contain other documents used in the preparation of the role and scope studies, such as department evaluations, that were not submitted to the Association. The series also includes the records of the Role and Scope Steering Committee, 1960-1962.

Other self study and accreditation reports appear in Subseries 2c, Administrative Policy Records of the Office of Academic Affairs, 1977-1986. They may also exist in the historical files of the colleges and departments. The series does not include Board of Regents Program Reviews for the State University System, but it does include department self studies submitted to the BOR for the reviews.

The series is divided into two parts: university-wide and interdisciplinary studies and college/department studies. Department reports are listed below their respective colleges. See SACS reports for other department evaluations.
