Scope and Content

The collection consists of 130 episodes of the more than 300 that were broadcast. The source tapes for all of the episodes was VHS and DVCPRO. All of the tapes have been reformatted and are available online in the University of Florida Digital Collections. Links to the online episodes are provided.

Biographical/Historical Note

Conversation was broadcast on WUFT-TV at the University of Florida. The show first aired in 1975 and ended production in 1987. Conversation was produced and hosted by Michael V. Gannon, Professor of History and Religion and Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Conversation was a thirty minute show which featured guests from the academic, administrative and athletic departments of campus as well as visiting lecturers and speakers. For a period of time in the 1980s, the show was broadcast as part of WUFT's 5 Live programming.
