Young Men's Christian Association Records
Scope and Content
This collection contains the records of the Young Men's Christian Association at the University of Florida covering the years 1922 through 1953. Included are correspondence, minutes, fragmentary financial records, and files on special projects and activities. Of special interest are the records chronicling the effort to build a YMCA building, a project that ultimately became the Florida Union.
Also included in the collection are student handbooks, 1910-1918, published by the Y for freshmen orientation. The handbooks are a precursor to the F Book issued by student government in the 1920s.
