The sound portion of the television program, Central Florida Showcase, for October 13, 1967.
The tape is an interview of President Stephen C. O'Connell conducted shortly after O'Connell took office. The tape begins with a few advertisements and Jim Puy introduces President O'Connell and the three panelists, Jerry Chicone, Jr. (moderating), Neil Powell, and Doug Root. The format of the interview is a series of questions from the panel and answers from President O'Connell. Some of the topics included the objections Governor Claude Kirk had to the method by which O'Connell was selected, why O'Connell accepted the presidency and moved from the profession of law, what type of support the university needed, enrollment, where funding for the university was derived, student protests at the university, the division of the school year (quarter system), and the search for a new chancellor.
