Records of the University of Florida Student Body Honor Court
Scope and Content
This series contains records of the Student Body Honor Court and its predecessor, the Executive Committee. These include administrative records, binders of court decisions and verdicts, and individual case files with related audiocassettes of court proceedings, and span the dates 1916 to 2008.
Administrative Records include manuals, publications, forms, and orientation materials for students participating in the Honor Court. Related to administrative records and stored in Audiovisual Materials, Box 10, is a U-matic videocassette tape of a mock court proceeding held in 1988. Also filed within Administrative Records is a 1970 report by the University Squires on the Honor System at the University of Florida.
Court Decisions contain bound volumes of Board of Masters decisions dating from 1968 to 2000, under various titles.
Case Files contain the records of individual cases heard before the Board of Masters and Election Commission dating from 1930 to 2003. Related audiocassette and microcassette tapes of court proceedings are filed in the Audiovisual Materials subseries.
Computer Disks contain both CD-R and 3.25" floppy disks, primarily containing additional administrative records.
Scrapbooks contain two honor court newspaper clipping scrapbooks transferred from the Reitz Union in April 2021. Photographs of Chancellors transferred from Student Government and deframed in June 2021.

Arrangement
This series is organized in six subseries: Administrative Records, Court Decisions, Case Files, Audiovisual Materials, Computer Disks, and Scrapbooks and Photographs.
Adminstrative Records are arranged alphabetically by file title, with the exception of two volumes of Executive Committee proceedings and early Honor Court minutes which precede the list of later files. Court Decisions, which were originally bound under various titles, are arranged roughly in chronological order. Case Files are arranged chronologically, as are related audiocassettes which are filed in the Audiovisual Material subseries. Computer Disks are arranged alphabetically. Photographs of Chancellors are arranged chronologically.

Parts of this collection are housed in the Library Auxiliary Depository off campus and will require advance notice for timely retrieval. Please contact the Special and Area Studies Collections department prior to your visit.
