Herman Family Travel Photo Album

Photos include aunts, uncles, and other family members of Mary and Herman taken over many years, in many different places. The album includes their travel accommodations, such as a log cabin in Georgia. Various family members are pictured in Gainesville, St. Augustine, Tampa, Miami, New York, Ohio and Minnesota. There are photographs of the Foster family, with whom they travelled and spent holidays. Sara B. Foster (widow of Alex H. Foster and probably Mary’s sister) is pictured by the lodging house she managed called “The Old Homestead,” located at 259 NE 3rd Street in Miami, Florida. Last leaf of album includes two tintypes showing Mary and Sara as children.

Shaw Foster is pictured in the Miami Senior High School yearbook, The Miahi. He is also listed (as Hamilton Shaw Foster) in the booklet for the 1929 Miami Senior High School graduation. He is pictured with his family in the Herman family photo album that is included in this collection. Various photographs and clippings that were found within the albums have been included in the collection.
