Edward J. Lavigne Collection

 Collection
Identifier: MSS 0440

Scope and Content

The items in this collection are divided between an envelope that holds Lavigne’s photo album from circa 1945 and a folder with personal documents and photographs. As the attached identification number next to one of the pictures of the album indicates, this picture is also included in the online photograph collection of the United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum. In the folder, there are two envelopes for negatives from the legendary Pri-Or Photo House in Tel Aviv, a printout of the list of family members, a copy of the obituary of Albert J. Lavigne, Edward’s youngest brother who served at the Submarine Service during World War II and died in 1993. There are documents relating to Edward Lavigne’s postwar career: a graduate certificate in an Academic Instructor Course at the US Air Force Air Command and Staff College from December 17, 1954; US Federal Communications Commission radio telephone operator second class license or General Radiotelephone Certificate, issued in Tampa Florida, on December 29, 1960 (expiring on December 29, 1965); and Defense Supply Agency Certificate of Training issued upon successful completion of QAR explosives safety training on April 12, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia.
