Biographical/Historical Note

Harry Philip Edwards (1 May 1916-16 March 2015) was born in New York, but spent some of his early life in Mexico before returning to the United States and settling in Boston, Massachusetts, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

Edwards graduated from the University of Florida in 1938 with his Bachelor of Arts degree, and attended law school at the University of Florida from 1940-1942. After graduation, Edwards returned to Boston and started his own legal practice. He was raised a Mason in St. John's Lodge, Boston, in November 1948, and was a Mason for over 66 years.

Edwards married twice; his first wife, Lucy-Ann (Dick) Edwards in 1951 until her death in 1973 and his second wife, Dr. Sylvia (Meyer) Edwards in 1980 until her death in 2008.
