Scope and Content
Collection contains records of the College of Health and Human Performance. These files consist mostly of records from the Office of the Dean.
Subseries 1, Committees, consists mostly of members lists of various College committees, with scattered correspondence, agendas, and minutes. Subseries 2, Correspondence and Memoranda, consists of correspondence from the Dean of the College of Health and Human Performance with various academic and administrative units at the University of Florida. Subseries 3, General Records, contains reports, admissions requirements, requests to the Athletic Association from the College for use of various recreational facilities, newsletters and the evaluation of the Athletic Training graduate program by the National Athletic Trainers Association, among other records. THis subseries also includes photographs related to the College. Subseries 4, Files on the Development of the Ph.D. in Applied Health Sciences, documents the inception, development, and implementation of the College's Ph.D. program in Applied Health Sciences, which is also known as the Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance. Subseries 5 consists of scrapbooks, and Subseries 6 contains VHS tapes, CDs, and floppy disks.

Biographical/Historical Note
The College of Health and Human Performance at the University of Florida was originally founded in 1946 as the College of Physical Education, Health and Athletics. The first dean was Dennis K. "Dutch" Stanley.
