Scope and Content

The Sandford Goldman Papers date from 1949 to 2019 and are divided into three series. Series 1. contains primarily digital photographs of Goldman’s architectural projects (some digital photographs of drawings are also included). The photos are further broken down into subseries by project location and then chronologically by project. Series 2. contains architectural drawings of Goldman’s projects, including his early class projects and internship with Frank Lloyd Wright. The drawings are stored both flat and rolled in boxes. They are arranged chronologically. Series 3. contains newspaper clippings on Goldman’s projects as well as Goldman’s career.

Biographical/Historical Note

Sanford Goldman is a Florida architect who graduated from the University of Florida School of Architecture in 1958, studied under Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin for two years in the late 1950s, and practiced architecture in St. Petersburg for over 50 years. He designed numerous mid-century modern homes in St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area, as well as projects such as the Hernando County government center, the Fine Arts Building at Eckerd College, and commercial projects.
