Biographical/Historical Note

This Task Force on Student Exchanges, which included Study Abroad programs, was one of seven task forces that formed the "Excellence in International Education at the University of Florida" workshop held in 1989. The workshop's aim was to evaluate the current state of international studies at UF and facilitate planning towards further development as the year 2000 approached.

The task forces involved in this workshop were: Area Studies and Foreign Languages, Student Exchanges and Study Abroad Programs, International Students and Visiting Scholars, Interface with Public and Private Sectors, Inter-institutional Linkages, Internationalizing the Curriculum, and Funding for International Programs. The workshop was sponsored by the Graduate School and the Office of Academic Affairs, and took place in April 1989.
