Collection contains prints and photo albums of people, places and events from Gainesville, Florida focusing on the University of Florida. The Henry Weisenburger Photograph Collection is composed of black and white prints of various sizes. Weisenburger documented the University of Florida and the city of Gainesville, during the years 1948-1951.

Biographical/Historical Note

Henry Francis Daniel Weisenburger was born in New York City in 1924. His family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1925. He attended the University of Florida and graduated with a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering in 1951. While attending UF, he captured many photographs of Gainesville and UF people, places, and events for the Seminole yearbook at UF.

He joined Fairchild Aircraft Corp. in Maryland in 1951, and then worked for Raytheon Co. near Boston as a senior systems engineer from 1956-1992. He joined the Boston Camera Club in 1954 and remained a member for the rest of his life.
