Kathy Freeperson (Kathryn Cleaves) Papers
Scope and Content
The Kathy Freeperson Papers (1975-1991) contain her correspondence, assorted writings, miscellaneous materials, and a 600-page manuscript. There is correspondence from several individuals relating to Freeperson’s personal and professional life. The papers include a number of poems, some of which are numbered in what appears to be an order for a hypothetical published collection. Of special interest is the large manuscript in the collection, which is made up of journal entries from 1974 to 1976 and was at one point to be published. Also included in the papers are activism relating to the University of Florida, with a few papers relating to the proposed closure of the Women’s Clinic and the 1990 killings of five college students.
