University of Florida Historic Preservation Collection

 Collection
Identifier: MSS 0395

Scope and Content

Historic preservation documents, reports, terminal projects, and other resources created by faculty and students belonging to the College of Architecture at the University of Florida. The documents were largely created by students under the direction of professors F. Blair Reeves, Carl Feiss, Ronald W. Haase, Susan D. Tate, Philip Wisely, and Herschel E. Shepard. Many of these projects provide original photographic documentation of historic sites. Sites in Florida are naturally one focus of the collection. Another large grouping deals with the architecture of Nantucket, Massachusetts, where the College of Architecture sponsored the Preservation Institute: Nantucket (PI:N) for many years. Technological, economic, and legal aspects of historic preservation are among the topics covered in these documents.

The collection was previously managed by the University of Florida Architecture and Fine Arts Library. An older (incomplete) subject based index is available here.
