Miscellaneous notes and letters (1938 - 41) from David Moore, a dance student of Ruth St. Denis and/or an intimate (?) friend ("Ruth, darling…," Dearest Ruth…," etc.) including many letters describing his unhappy family life, with his parents, in San Francisco ("...I am a sorry creature in their eyes.."), his decision to pursue a life in the theatre ("...something I've been trying to accomplish for two years..."), references to meetings with Ruth St. Denis ("Overjoyed at your coming! Hoping all things regarding trip and stay will work out...for I have been very lonely. Your loving, David!" and "...Be gentle with me and accept my love, remember that it is myself I fear.
