American Dance Films Association. Miscellaneous background information and ephemera (letters, budget reports, press releases, etc.) pertaining to the failed American Dance Films Association founded in NYC (c. 1948) by Ted Shawn, Ruth St. Denis, Walter Terry, Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, William Skipper and Arthur Todd ("...Ideas of the American Dance Films are flying fast and thick around here..."). The Association was created with assistance from photographer Dwight Godwin ("general film director"), cinematographer Phil Barribault and Jacob's Pillow musical director Jess Meeker with funding from the Ruth St. Denis Foundation (Director: Dorothy Lee Tifal)
